As part of the keyword analysis phase, you need to be clear about what you sell, who you sell it to, who are your competitors and what are your potential customers searching for. Below is a step-by-step list of activities to do your keyword analysis and keyword research.
- Make a list of products and services that you sell - note these keywords down
- Type each one into Google
- Make a note of your competitors
- Look at their sites individually, view their source code and look at header, titles and meta data. Add to the list of keyword
- Make a note of alternatives offered by Google
- Look at Google Analytics or other analytics tool and add more keywords
- Look at synonyms (eg Go Rank)
- Look at Abakus Keyword Tool
- Keyword competitiveness Digitalpoint Competitor Tool
- Other resources are Google trends, Google Adwords, Google Suggest, Wordtracker, Nichebot
